Valentino Fashion Group has announced that it has chosen as his successor Alessandra Facchinetti, Valentino Garavani, the creative director of women's collections of Valentino. Analysts believe that this election will help to rejuvenate the brand. Garavani quits after 45-year career in the fashion world and there expects the Facchinetti add a touch of modernity to the classic Valentino. Garavani will retire officially at the end of January. Facchinetti will take over when the private equity fund Permira finalize the acquisition of Valentino Fashion Group, for an amount of approximately € 2.6 billion (or 3.5 billion dollars).

Valentino Fashion Group Said It hired designer Alessandra Facchinetti to Succeed Valentino Garavani as head of womenswear, in a move analysts say will allow the new owners of the fashion house to freshen up its eponymous brand. As Mr. Garavani wraps up his 45-year career with the Italian luxury maker, Ms. Facchinetti is expected to modernize the classic Valentino label. Mr. Garavani is expected to officially step down at the end of January, Ms. Facchinetti’s appointment comes as private-equity investor Permira moves toward completing its acquisition of Valentino Fashion Group in a deal that values the company at about Euro 2.6 billion, or about $ 3.5 billion.
